Nesselrod on the New (Fairlawn, Va) - widely known around the New River Valley (NRV) as one of the very best outdoor music venues, this beautiful and historic bed & breakfast is now growing in new ways, with native plants! Highlighting plethora of edible, indigenous plants, the evolving native plant pathway at Nesselrod also serves as a foundation for a future food forest guild, which already includes favorites like Pawpaw, Persimmon, Chestnut, Plum and Elderberry to name a few.
With a total of 25 trees and shrubs planted at Nesselrod in 2023, Nursery Natives plans to continue this restoration project in 2024 and beyond, stating that “this is just the beginning”.
